Alamgir Khan is the Coach, Mentor and NLP Master Practitioner at AMK Coaching. He is also qualified in Time Line Therapy (TM) and Hypnotherapy to Master Practitioner level. A firm advocate of continuous personal development and improvement with a passion for helping others to maximise their potential and become the best that they can be.
"It is very, very satisfying to witness someone having that "Eureka" moment when someone breaks down the barriers in their mind and realises that they can achieve and succeed".
Before becoming a coach and mentor, Alamgir had a successful Civil Service career for over twenty years. He has had several roles in a number of Government departments and agencies, including the Crown Prosecution Service (where he met Alison), the former Employment Department, HM Treasury and Cabinet Office. While his Civil Service roles covered a wide range of interesting areas including: HR policy; business management and finance; project management; and policy advice. His most satisfying roles were those where he helped to change and improve business systems and - naturally - those where he was helping people to perform and develop, such as being a people manager and a trainer.
Alamgir has helped people looking to overcome their phobias or deal with issues such as insomnia.
In addition, Alamgir volunteered as a Career Development Coach with Shaw Trust until 2016. During that time he helped long-term unemployed people, people with disabilities and disadvantaged people towards work. He really enjoyed doing this and would encourage others to do so. Recently, Alamgir has become a Trustee of Age UK (Malvern & District). Alamgir has a BA (Hons) in Economics from Kingston University in 1987.
Alamgir has many other interests, including photography, reading, listening to music.
Alison Khan is the Business Manager at AMK coaching and is responsible for ensuring that everything is organised, planned and running like clockwork. Before joining the company, Alison had a successful 20 year career in the Civil Service working for the Crown Prosecution Service, the Cabinet Office and the National School for Government. She specialised in helping departments and agencies to improve their business performance as well as their people. Amongst her proudest achievements was developing Civil Service policies on responding to domestic violence and seeing a reduction in sickness absence as a result of cross departmental policies that she developed. She was also a member of the Capability Building Programme and worked on projects as varied as improving employee engagement; GP commissioning and the pathway to introducing Universal Credit. She was a line manager throughout her career, managing teams varying in size from four to forty people. She has acted as a mentor to those looking for promotion as well as helping those whose performance required improvement.
When she is not keeping everything at AMK coaching on track, Alison spends her time walking Jess the dog, supporting the London Broncos and Chelsea FC, and planning her next cruise!
